GREENS took part in Workshop-I on Curriculum Development, organised under the Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) programme — Sub-Project PIN: 12368 — held at the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, University of Chittagong. The event brought together distinguished academics, programme leaders, and institutional representatives to advance the quality and relevance of higher education curricula across Bangladesh.

The organisation was represented by its Team Leader, Mijanur Rahman, whose participation underscored GREENS's active role in academic development initiatives. The workshop served as an important platform for collaborative discussion on curriculum design, outcome-based education frameworks, and institutional planning strategies aligned with national and global higher education standards.

Strengthening the connection between research, academic capacity-building, and quality higher education is at the heart of what GREENS stands for. Engagement in initiatives like this is not optional — it is essential.

— GREENS Organisational Commitment

The workshop offered rich, forward-looking insights into building curricula that are not only academically rigorous but deeply responsive to the evolving needs of students, institutions, and society. Sessions covered a wide range of topics — from aligning course outcomes with graduate attributes to integrating research-led teaching practices into departmental frameworks. For GREENS, the experience reinforced the critical link between academic excellence, research engagement, and sustainable institutional growth.

GREENS extends its sincere appreciation to the Chief Guest Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan, Honourable Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chittagong, the session facilitators, and the organising team at the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies for creating such a timely and impactful programme. The organisation also gratefully acknowledges the continued leadership of HEAT, UGC Bangladesh, and all partner institutions in their shared mission to elevate higher education quality across the country.

The knowledge and perspectives gained from Workshop-I will meaningfully inform GREENS's future academic, research, and organisational endeavours as the organisation continues to contribute to curriculum development, institutional capacity-building, and evidence-driven educational reform in Bangladesh.
